More About Coaching and Volunteering Opportunities

[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text addstyles=”font-size:18px;”]Dear Potential Volunteers,[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text addstyles=”font-size:18px;”]Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Royal City Basketball. We appreciate your willingness to donate your time, whether that be on the court, in the gym or in the community.[/vc_column_text][dt_sc_testimonial type=”type5″ class=”global-testimonial” name=”- Margaret Mead”]Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can change the world; indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.[/dt_sc_testimonial][dt_sc_empty_space margin_lg=”50″ margin_md=”50″ margin_sm=”50″ margin_xs=”50″ el_id=”1669667067445-b71b6135-2716″][vc_column_text addstyles=”font-size:18px;”]Coach Volunteers –  Are you a natural Leader? Not afraid of challenges? You may be asked to work alongside one of our head coaches whether that be in our 12 session programs or in our Rep basketball program. We teach culture here at Royal City. We want that positive culture to be rich in all the things we do. If you have experience coaching, great. If you are new to coaching we will communicate and provide access to materials to help you succeed. We push all of our coaches to get certified and will support you in doing so.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text addstyles=”font-size:18px;”]Gym Volunteers – Do you like being close to the action? Enjoy the team-like atmosphere? You may be asked to help in basketball related events like tournaments or open gyms. We will have positions to fill in concession, scorekeeping, information booths, videography, etc. We would like to assign people where they are willing to learn and/or use their already developed skills.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text addstyles=”font-size:18px;”]Event Volunteers – Calling all socialites! Do you know how to throw a good party? You may be asked to coordinate and assist in pop up events, banquets, holiday parties, etc. Everyday will look different. You may be helping with on-the-spot registrations, talking to parents and players, running a booth and/or promoting Royal City Basketball. We would like to find people who want to be in the forefront of expanding our reach within our communities and providing a great first impression.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text addstyles=”font-size:18px;”]Admin Volunteers –  Do you enjoy working with people? Have experience working with business owners? You may be asked to oversee different events within the club, help with scheduling or reaching out to potential sponsors. Being a youth non-for-profit we do look for additional support from businesses interested in helping. We would ask our admins to be willing to learn about all the things happening at Royal City Basketball and expect them to be comfortable being flexible while we establish ourselves as a clear first choice for youth basketball in our cities.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text addstyles=”font-size:18px;”]Youth sports could not exist today without those who didn’t have the time, but made it.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text addstyles=”font-size:18px;”]PLEASE COMPLETE FORM BELOW:

Please obtain a VSC if you are over the age of 18. A VSC is required for all individuals who intend on working with vulnerable people. This includes minors and dependents under the age of 18 in Canada. This type of screening is required for the following type of positions, among others: Teachers, Social Workers, Taxi Drivers, Daycare Workers, and Sports Coaches. It is a collection of offence information, including convictions, outstanding warrants, charges and judicial orders available from a local police agency’s records management system and/or other records where authorized. (Waterloo Regional Police & York Regional Police)[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text addstyles=”font-size:18px;”]The VSC can be easily obtained online through your local police website. A VSC is different from a “police check”.[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text addstyles=”font-size:18px;” css=”.vc_custom_1669667455350{padding-bottom: 0px !important;}”]City of Guelph VSC Portal:
